Therapy for Thriving Beyond Chronic Illness
Living with a chronic illness can be overwhelming & exhausting. The daily challenges-whether physical, emotional or mental-can make it difficult to find balance, joy and purpose.
Let’s talk numbers for a minute. Did you know that 6 in 10 adults in the US have at least one chronic illness. And 4 in 10 will have two or more chronic health diagnoses.
What does this mean?
It means that you are not alone in navigating through this new and uncharted territory.
While it may feel like no one around you understands, more people than not, do. I do.
I was diagnosed with mine in 2022 although, I suspect it has been around for much longer.
Understanding that this was not my fault and that there are others like me has been crucial in learning to live with it.
I want to help you learn to thrive beyond your diagnosis!
Therapy for chronic illness can help you:
-
Have a safe place to work through the emotions that come with receiving a chronic health diagnosis.
-
Receiving a diagnosis and learning to live with it can come with grief. Find ways to practice acceptance of where you and your body are while honoring the grief of the changes you are having to make.
-
Together we will develop effective coping strategies tailored to your needs, helping you manage the stress that having a chronic illness bring.
-
If asking for help is difficult, we will work to find ways that you can communicate your needs. Or maybe even find ways to help those around you understand what you are dealing with a little better.
-
You are not meant to do this alone. Having a support team to assist is key to getting through the challenging times. Let's find ways to nurture and be nurtured.
-
It can feel easier to isolate and withdraw from people and social situations. And while listening to your body is important, living life with purpose is important too. I want to help you find a way to do both!
