Grief & Loss Counseling

A haven for exploring and healing from loss.

Rediscover hope and a path to peace

Grief is a deeply personal and complex experience that often leaves us feeling alone in the process. Our world does not honor the grieving process in a way that helps us feel like we can speak our grief out loud, which leads us to feel like we just need to move on.

Can you really move on if you are experiencing…

  • Overwhelming emotions

    • Intense emotions such as anger, disbelief, deep sadness, guilt or anger are easier to feel and experience. It is starting to feel that you are always triggered and doesn't stop.

  • Social Isolation

    • Feeling like a burden so you stop hanging out with friends, returning messages or engaging in once fun activities. Or maybe fear has popped up and we stay in as a way to protect ourselves because it feels safer..

  • Physical Symptoms

    • You're feeling fatigue due to sleep disturbances or loss of appetite. It may even be harder to focus and concentrate on your day to day tasks. You may feel a general heaviness or ache that just does not go away.

  • Constant Reminders

    • Smells, pictures, memories are constantly a reminder of the loss that you have experienced. Walking into a room now feels different. A song sounds different. Laughing again feels wrong.

No matter how much time you have given it or tried to move on, nothing helps the ache you are feeling inside. You are ready to ease the pain that you are going through.

Grief Therapy can help you embrace the emotions, cope with loss & reclaim your life.

As part of our work together I want to help you learn to befriend your grief.

That means…….

>>> Holding it gently- feeling the weight of it while experiencing the tenderness of all the emotions.

>>> Embracing grief- accepting its presence and maybe eventually finding connection with it so that it can guide you to a deeper healing.

>>> Witnessing it- slowing down and allowing yourself to be with it. Inviting it to be with you, and listening to what it has to say without rushing it to leave.

>>> Making peace- finding the place where you no longer feel like it is a battle to be won but a relationship to be nurtured.

By doing this it will you to honor your grief while also living a life that feels meaningful to you.

No more feeling like you have to do this on your own. No more hiding out from the people you love and love you back.

No more feeling like your emotions will overtake you.

You can grieve & live and I would be honored to show you how.

Grief Therapy Looks Like

  • speaking your grief into the room, allowing it to exist

  • process what has happened and what it means for you

  • uncover ways to live and grieve at the same time

I understand that it is easier said (or written) than done. And you are right.

Grief therapy with me is a place where you can bring all of the messiness and complexities of grief into the room without feeling worried or judged on how you are handling it. You are allowed to be seen and heard in your grief, however that shows up.

You will find that this allows you to begin offering compassion to yourself as you work through the experiences of loss.

Together we will create a personalized therapy plan for you. It may include EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS and other mindfulness techniques that will help you on your path to healing.

Grief is a unique and individual process sop lets create a plan that is truly designed for your healing.
